Personality: Unlike Prince Blueblood, Prince Excalibur is a brave, regal, graceful, elegant, selfless, polite, regal, mature, a mare's stallion, helpful, sophisticated, gentle, humble, innocent, observant, giving, compassionate, sensitive, trustworthy, daring, adventurous, poised, strong, flirtatious, clever, cunning, dashing, thoughtful, serious, a good leader, protective, kind, caring, noble, romantic, brave, determined, active, loyal, heroic, proper, charming, sweet, creative, slightly humorous and princely. He's quit the gentle pony, a more sentimental pony, he's not the type to make a Mare wait and able risk his life for any pony he cares about (he's not even afraid to get a medium amount of dirty). He speaks with a French accent and just because he's a gentlestallion, doesn't mean he knows how to get himself out of a situation. Interestingly, despite his position in power and royal status, Excalibur is far from shallow and is shown to be rather accepting of those around him, no matter their position or background, and seems to judge ponies and other creatures more on their personalities and overall character.
Excalibur became frustrated with the duties of being a prince, and longed for a life outside of the palace. This clashes with the fact that, according to his parents, Excalibur must marry a mare named Princess Gold Digger, which results in a problem because Excalibur wishes to marry for love rather than for wealth, glory and power. Obviously, he doesn't love Princess Gold Digger. Princess Gold Digger was the mare appointed to be Excalibur's fiancée by his parents. She had always been bossy. She would follow him around constantly tormenting him and telling him what to do and how he should do things. She was 1 of the reasons why he ran away from home.
He wanted to run away, but he didn't know where to go. He wanted a sign or a hint that can tell him where to go. Suddenly, a stallion who was holding a sign shaped like an arrow pointing at the same Curio Shop Trixie went to and got the Alicorn Amulet just quited and threw the sign and landed on top of Sterling Stone's Boutique. It wasn't what he had in mind, but he took it. So he grabed some food n' supplies, snook out at night and left a note saying "Dear Mother, Father and Brother, I will not marry Princess Gold Digger because I don't love her. I know the law says I must be married to a princess, but it's preposterous. The law is wrong. I don't want to be forced into this. If I do marry, I want it to be for love and Princess Gold Digger doesn't love me. She talks of love, but it's an act merely meant to throw us. She dosen't want me, she wants our royal treasure. She’s snooty and cowardly and obnoxious and cruel and stupid and spoiled and totally bossy. Nothing I do is good enuff for her. It's not just her, I'm tired of being a prisoner and being stuck in here with teachers who give me a hard time just to teach me how to be royalty. Please, try to understand. I've never done a thing on my own. I've never had any real friends. Except you, Shining Armor and Cadence. In the palace walls, their are ponies who tell you where to go and how to dress. You're not free to make your own choices.You're just trapped. I can't take it anymore, so I decided to leave the royal life to live with the other ponies outside the palace walls, make some real friends and find a Filly that loves me, for just being me. After The King of Unicornia read the note, he was scared and worried for his youngest son's safty. So he led all The Royal Gaurds on a frantic search. Meanwhile, Excalibur hid in the caves beneath Canterlot until the search for him was over. Most of the time, Excalibur would spend the day in the caves exploring, marking his trail so he would'nt get lost, reading books, listening to his record player, reading scrolls, working on his magic or resting and come out only at night, in the disguise of a peasant, to using as much bits as he could for food. The Royal Gaurds looked for the prince for three months and found no trace, so they thought that Excalibur was dead and The King of Unicornia decided to end the search. When the search was over, Excalibur went to The Sterling Stone's Boutique and pretended to be an orphan named Lancelot who lost his parents in a wagon accident during a storm on their journey from Saddle Arabia to Canterlot. The owners of The Sterling Stone's Boutique gladly took him in. Excalicur started sewing until he made his first suit and when he made his first suit, he thought there was something missing, then his horn started glowing strangely when he found a pebble in his shoe. His horn turned the rock into a ruby and then he used it for a stallion brooch for the suit and then his Cutie mark appeared, he's been working at The Sterling Stone's Boutique ever sense.
Thus, as time went by, Excalibur (now known as Lancelot), grew up in The Sterling Stone's Boutique and lived a long and happy life with his friends and his adopted family. Yet, it had it's ups and downs and he missed his family and life in the castle. And yet, through it all, Lancelot remained ever gentle n' kind and stayed outside the palace walls, for he knew that if he revealed his secret... his happy days in the outside world will end. When the time had come for him to leave the Boutique, Lancelot had packed everything he needed for his journey. After he hugged Sterling Stone The Third and Amethyst, Lancelot took off, but not before he waved goodbye to his adopted parents before he went into The World. Lancelot soons meets Lorenzini, the owner and ringmaster of a travelling circus called Lorenzini's Spectacular Circus that uses carnies to rob the spectators blind. Lancelot was unaware of Lorenzini's true nature. Lancelot soon became the Circus's costume desighner and he met Sprite Star and the others when they decided to work for the Circus. After Lorenzini was put to jail, Lorenzini's Spectacular Circus was bote cheep and was named The Can Do Gang Circus and Lancelot became their costume designer, fashion designer, tailor, master of illusion, story teller and solve problems with the Circus's new Ringmaster Spirit Star and maybe sell a few stallion clothing (little did they know that he was a prince).
